Dr. Hussein Rifai serves as a founding member of the Advisory Board of the Asteroid Foundation, an international non-profit organisation headquartered in Luxembourg dedicated to advancing public understanding of asteroids, planetary defence, space science and the emerging space economy. The Foundation works with leading scientists, educators, research institutions and industry partners to promote global awareness while inspiring the next generation to pursue careers in science, technology and space exploration.

Appointed as one of the Foundation's inaugural Advisory Board members in 2025, Dr. Rifai provides strategic guidance to the Board of Directors, contributing his experience in governance, international business, investment and long-term strategic thinking to support the Foundation's global mission.

Beyond his advisory role, Dr. Rifai has been a longstanding supporter of the Foundation and proudly sponsors the annual Asteroid Foundation Gala Dinner, an event that brings together astronauts, scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs and global leaders in support of science education and international collaboration.

As a longstanding supporter and sponsor of the Asteroid Foundation Annual Gala Dinner, Dr. Hussein Rifai was honoured to welcome guests to the Foundation's 2026 Gala.

Unable to attend the event in Luxembourg in person, Dr. Rifai's welcome address was delivered on his behalf by Professor Maher Kalaji, Board Director of the Asteroid Foundation, who shared his message with guests gathered from across the international scientific, academic and business communities.
